Sean Ono Lennon at Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ
By Michael Evans
Sean perfomed at Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ on Tuesday, March 17th, 1998, to a small crowd, but his music was more than that. The Sean Lennon sound was much larger than that room will ever be able to hold. But yet this show gave everyone there the chance to be close and personal with the singer. He performed to a completely captive group of people ranging from early 20's, who came to see Sean, to older Beatle fans in their plus 40-year-old age group who were curious, or wanted to just be close to the product of one of the biggest icons that ever lived.
Sean has his own sound and style, and performs it with that unmistakable Lennon-style voice, but he is his own person with his own sound at the same time. His show was nothing less than great. He has a real talent for music and I for one, look forward to the release of his first CD on May 19th of this year.
I personally, along with members of the band "Lynex" had the pleasure to talk with him for a short time before he had to leave, and Sean, if you see this, I hope you enjoyed the tape of our band as much as we enjoyed you, both as a musician and as a person. Thanks for being you.
