Art

Yoko appears on the PBS series, "Egg The Arts Show" during the month of June, 2001. Check local listings for the day and time in your area.

The Egg website has this to say about itself:

"EGG launches its first national season with new episodes that take viewers off the beaten path to focus on the excitement, diversity and raw energy of the arts nationwide. From the art of Bonsai to the thrill of the dance, EGG presents intriguing stories from across the country in a dynamic cinéma vérité style. Each weekly episode takes a theme -- how to be happy, unnatural science, body language, flight (to name a few) -- and explores it through the prism of the arts. Ranging from the unconventional to the poignant to the controversial, EGG promises to be unlike any arts program on television."

Yoko's Show:

What's the Big Idea?

This is a show about art that is about ideas. Viewers may not agree with some of the ideas and may not like some of the art, but this show may make them question what art is and what it can be. The episode features Yoko Ono, Tom Friedman and RTMark (pronounced 'artmark') -- an anonymous group of artists, activists and agent-provocateurs -- and seeks answers to the question, what's the big idea?

AN ANSWER TO THE QUESTION...

In an interview with Yoko on the Egg page, she answers the question many have been asking: "What does Yoko do with all the wishes on the Wish Trees when the art event is over?"

Yoko: "I have wishes from many different countries now and I'm keeping it all.  I am not going to look (at them), I mean it's sacrilegious to look (at them). Their wish should go from here to there directly, not being interfered or intruded on by me.  So, I am collecting all these wishes, and then one day I am going to make a piece that contains all the wishes and it will be very powerful, I think."

As part of the Egg online series, fans are invited to participate in "Laugh Piece."  Phone +1-212-868-4051 and listen to Yoko's message, then contribute your voice to the piece.

Fans can also send a Yoko postcard from the Egg site.
