Yoko Talks to "Inside Edition" and "Entertainment Tonight"

(Entered May 8, 2000)

Yoko told "Inside Edition" in mid-April that the murder of her husband has haunted her everyday of her life. "I am still trying to find out why this happened. What is the message to all of us? I think it was so unfair to John. He was such an incredibly talented young man. He was so young and he had an incredible future."

Yoko said her blood curdled when she heard the news that a deranged man had stabbed George Harrison. Yoko: "I was totally scared..When I heard about that I immediately thought about Dhani (George's son). When things like that happen, the children suffer the most. It was almost like thinking about Sean."

Asked about the upcoming possibility of parole for John's killer, Yoko told "Inside Edition" : "I think that we really have to protect ourselves. I have to really be concerned about the safety of Julian and Sean and myself."

Yoko was featured on both "Inside Edition" and "Entertainment Tonight" this week. We will have a report on the "Inside Edition" appearance later.

Leeza Gibbons interviewed Yoko for "Entertainment Tonight" and asked her about how she deals with John's loss. Yoko said that you just have to move on.

Asked about the parole situation for John's killer, Yoko reiterated that she is worried about the safety of John's two sons, Julian and Sean. She was enthusiastic about how well George and Olivia handled the attack on their lives recently. Yoko had been devastated when the police phoned her in the middle of the night to tell her about the home invasion and stabbing of George.
