I went to
England.
I went to Liverpool.
I took a
sonogram of my unborn brother Max.
I took that
sonogram to all of the Beatles' homes. I saw
friends from New York there.
I watched the
moonlight as a walked home from a club.
I
appreciate the country and its people and
children.
I held a wish close to my
heart.
I brought back souvenirs, memories, and
many smiles.
I went for the peace event.

Greetings ....
I thank-you for the simple gift of your web
site...
I have been on a very unpeaceful journey in this
last year... Planning Peace Forums w/ Nobel
Laureaute Mairead Maguire & Congressman Dennis
Kucinich..Planning bus trips to NYC & DC for
rally's ... Planning art events & co-starting
an Artists against war group here in Cleveland...
Doing weekly actions .. participating in
Non-violent civil disobedience on the day we
bombed Iraq part deux... leading & attending a
seemingly endless barrage of meetings.. drafting
Cities for Peace anti-war resolutions.. passing
them in my city & 2 burbs... working on
endless committees that seem to lead to endless
new affinity groups...
Today.... I became still...I was led to your site
by a friend...And have been transformed by the
Zen-like simplicity of its message.. in all
this
waging of peace.. I have lost peace inside
myself.. sleep deprivation and war victims imagery
in side my head ... lifeless bodies created by my
countries misguided missiles
against a people already so frail from years of
siege. Knowing the people behind the unavailable
to us by our media images of suffering.....it was
almost unbearable....I thank-you... for the gift
of remembrance For it is more important I plant the
pebble..and be peace.. than frenetically demand
the universe create it for me....
I will choose more wisely and say no more
often...I met your Sean once with my son here
in Cleveland .. at a coffee shop.. I brought my
son... to see him perform.. and love to revisit
his CD.. What a gift .. I wonder if he will share
more of his talent in the future? I was a bit too
young, to fully experience the Beatles in their
moment.. but have them as the soundtrack for my
life nonetheless....
I remember one day.. sitting mourning in
Strawberry Fields inside the mosaic.."
Imagine" sobbing at the loss of
John...and for the end of my own personal
innocence. It was my first visit to the city after
his death.... a couple of years if memory
serves....You were there for me then too...Looking
down out the Dakota window..Sean at your side...
must have been 3or 4... I never had the opportunity
or need to thank-you then.. for your gifts... but
feel this time is perfect.
Immediately upon serrendipitously seeing you both{
I think :) } in the window a feeling of future.. I
cannot describe washed over me like a
wave...transforming my tears into aspiration ...
many years later.. I have been blessed with access
to much in life..and now... finally at peace..
inside my own skin...
Post 9-11 , I visited my mother in the city
& put up signs on the subways... Imagine... a
Department of Peace!
Now I work with Congressman Kucinich on projects.
Just to give you a glimpse.. of the difference
your pebble has made in mylife...I'm off to take a
bubble bath...
Breathe ...
Smile...
I wish you all the best ...
I am grateful for this moment..
I have passed your website on to many on my list A
Culture of Peace... so eloquent...
Fellow traveler..
Be well... live love....

"Naturally, the common people don't want war,
but after all, it is the leaders of a country who
determine the policy, and it is always a simple
matter to drag the people along whether it is a
democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a
parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or
no voice, the people can always be brought to the
bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have
to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and
denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and
exposing the country to danger. It works the same
in every country." --

I have informed so
many to your 'event' piece- war is simply a no

remember bother's and sisters'-GOD DOES NOT CHOOSE

Give peace a chance!
Well, John sang this to us many many years ago,
but what have we learned? People use the old
methods to solve the problems, behind this are
evil, revenge and pride. Are we really so simple
in our thinking that we can not find any other ways to solve our problems than wars?
What can you do?
Peace is everywhere, it is in your everyday life.
The way you treat other people, the way tyo deal
with personal problems. You can start from your
own life, to stop your personal wars in order to
respect other people.
At the end we are
all the same, flesh and blood, people with
children, people with their relatives and friends.
Why not say "no" to that kind of leadership who does not find any other way to
deal
with problems than wars? Are we only tin solders
at those leader's play ground?
John sang, you do
not know what you got till you lose it. Losing
someone you love a lot is one of the most
difficult thing in your personal life. Even so,
people prefer to go to war, even so that there is
possibility to lose one's life.
Pride is more
important than your own family, your own husband
or wife, your own mother or father? You are
willing to let your family suffer because of
wanting to be this tiny tin solder in the play
ground? Is it worth it?
Of course
"everybody loves you when you're six feet on the
ground", John sang this too. But you are not
there to feel that love? I wish we could all
say to each other "grow old along with me the
best is yet to be" and see our children grow
and keep this world together as a good place for
everyone to live. '

How can we go forward when we don't know which way
we're facing?
How can we go forward when we don't know which way
to turn?
How can we go forward into something we're not sure
of?
You know life can be long
And you got to be so strong
And the world is so tough
Sometimes I feel I've had enough
For anyone else out there feeling unsure, I hope
this peace event makes its way to you. Yoko, thank
you for reassuring me, and I hope many others, what
I've always thought was right. Peace and Love!!
Much love to you, and everyone.
We all shine on, like the moon, and the stars, and
the sun.
Rachel, New Zealand.
I was sent the peace event via snail mail from the
US. Amen!
using
the same solutions to old problems will not further
our stations as human beings in this world. we
need something new. understanding that we are
all different is a beginning.
thank you for making me more aware.

feel alone
lost a lot of friends
i feel alone
I see the injustice of this war
i feel alone
looking at the children; starving while billions of
dollars are being spent on bombs
i feel alone
the raids, the hatred, the injustice in the name of
security
i feel alone
because i know the truth
i would rather feel alone than be one of them

Just
give peace a chance (JOHN LENNON)
Remember the song, "Where Have All the Flowers
Gone?"
To the graveyard every one!

I
was raised on John & Yoko, during the Vietnam
war I saw the skywriting in the sky by them, I
remember them saying things like "sit in a bank
for peace" or "grow your hair for
peace". I love them both dearly, I wear
my John peace button from I got in Liverpool daily.
I have to work, so I cannot sit in a bank. It
doesn't pay the bills.
However, each day I think of Peace, and I look at
the sky, I see there can be such beauty in the
world, so I act especially these days with peace and
understanding in my heart, my mind, & my
being.
We are all just people here together, we cannot stop
everything that is happening but we can keep asking
the people at the top isn't there a better way to
solve this. Think. But do it in peace.

Hello,
I found the "Peace Event " in Rolling
Stone
magazine, the one featuring a headline that read
" 50 Cent : Mastering the Art of
Violence".
I was pleasantly surprised to find this wonderful
idea!
There was also a full page ad saying "musicians
for peace", and a list of several popular
musicians who were brave enough to state that they
believe war on Iraq is wrong.
I immediately photo-copied the Peace Event so that I
could pass it along to my friends and family. I also
sent copies to several of my international pen pals.
I told them that as pen pals, we were helping to
achieve Peace!
May I suggest an idea? Utne Reader magazine
might be a great place to list the Peace Event.
Thank you for the wonderful ideas suggested in the
Peace Event, hopefully it will spread to all corners
of the globe, and change the world for the better!
Peace
Love
Eve

Turn
off the TV, screen out the war coverage. Head
outside and from whatever your vantage point, even
if it is a slice of sky, watch the sun set every
day.
In rain or snow, watch the clouds move
and night fall.
Compare one day to the next
and the next and feel the seasons movement as
you think peace at the same time.
Next,
invite another being to share this daily ritual at
least to feel its power once.
Perhaps if one
by one, each individual in the world took this
moment to think peace deeply, it would be.

Dear Yoko,
I don't know if my words can contribute much to
resolution of the horrible situation, but it's my
purest dream to do something to avoid killing. But I
can't. I feel I can't and it's a pain, you know.
I
believe, we're all humans and we can't let destroy
ourselves. I know war is the way to destroying. I'm
afraid of it.
I'm just 15 and I live in the country
of former Soviet Union. I see that lots of people
here believe in piece. You know, to feel that you
are unable to do something is horrible.
I believe in you and John.
Everybody should give peace a chance.
Thank you!! Hi!
Thanks.

It's time to listen to
Give Peace A Chance. Play it loud. Play it loud
enough to echo all over the world, from heart to
heart. Sing along. Sing together! With one strong
voice. We are all together.

Thank you Yoko for continuing to spread peace, esp.
for speaking out on John's views re this war.

Peace
to me is something that must start the day we women
conceive our first child.
The love and kindness and compassion and acceptance
of the world that we show to them
will help them to become peaceful people.
The world is full of hurt, angry, oppressed people
who have not been heard, loved, held and helped.
Each one of us can do our part to make peace start
within us and spread it out...

Well my name's Skyler
and I'm a rather small town but I did what Yoko said
because I believe in her and John. They're my inspiration
in life . They make me want to try. And
since I'm planning on becoming a singer soon now I
will definitely take John and Yoko along in my heart. I did make a pen pal.
Because I am only 16 I cannot travel anywhere. But
with internet it makes it easier. I'm so
excited to be apart of this. I just want to
let Yoko know I love her. Her letter meant the world
to me. Yoko you make me happy on days when I'm
sad. Plus my boyfriend plays John Lennon in
the tribute band so he looks just like him and
people tell me I'm his Yoko and look just like you.
I'm your mini me. Keep up everything you do.

Imagine(Peace)P.s. John lennon said we should put
peace stuff in our windows and that's just what I've
done.
I'm sitting in New
York
But somewhere a waterfall makes music on rocks
I'm sitting in New York
But in Iraq people are losing their precious lives
I'm sitting in New York
But somewhere in the world a beautiful child is
being born
I'm sitting in New York
But somewhere in a world of abundance children go
hungry
I'm sitting in New York
But somewhere people hold hands in peace and love
I'm sitting in New York
But somewhere a mother grieves for a lost son
I'm sitting in New York
But somewhere small children laugh and play
I'm sitting in New York
But somewhere voices are silenced by brutality
I'm sitting in New York
But somewhere voices are raised in protest
I'm sitting in New York
But somewhere people join hands and let their hatred
slip away
I'm sitting in New York
