RECENT HISTORY

Sean appeared as an interviewee in a cab (the cab driver interviewed him!) on ABC In Concert, June 26. Barenaked Ladies..the group whose song "Be My Yoko Ono" got Sean's attention at a NYC club a few years ago, was the live band. Sean's "Home" video was shown along with his interview.

Sean appeared on "Late Night with David Letterman" June 18. At the end of his set, Letterman came over to shake Sean's hand and Sean told him the studio was cold.

Sean was interviewed for "CNN Newsstand: Entertainment Weekly" which aired June 11 at 10PM. The feature included clips of John and Yoko with Sean, and John and Yoko during one of their famous "bed-ins" (referred to as a "bedroom protest" by the CNN announcer). The bed-in scene should prove embarassing for CNN because the "Newsstand" voice-over of the videotape shot before Sean was born claimed that the child climbing under the covers between John and Yoko was Sean. In fact, it was Yoko's daughter, Kyoko.

That glaring error aside, the interview was interesting, with Sean giving everyone a glimpse of why he just might be able to make it in the dog-eat-dog world of entertainment. He has an easy-going, unaffected and totally relaxed persona in front of the cameras. A big plus when people are constantly sticking cameras into your face.

Nothing too startling was revealed in the interview, but Sean did backpeddle a little on whether or not his Mom liked "Into the Sun." In an early Rolling Stone interview, he hinted that she wasn't that crazy about it. For CNN, he said she loved it, especially because the voices were easy to hear over the instruments. Perhaps the album has grown on her like it has grown on us with repeated plays.

The comparisons between Sean and Yuka and John and Yoko were made of course but Sean seems to be too much in love to notice.

Sean appeared on MTV Live Tuesday, May 19 at 6PM Eastern time.

He was interviewed on MTV's "Indie Outing" on May 4. During that interview he stated he was trying to make a name for himself out of the shadows of his dad. The interviewer smilingly asked him, "Who's your dad?" and Sean, not skipping a beat, replied, "Jack Lemmon."

The new video, "Home" from the CD "Into the Sun" aired on MTV's program, "120 Minutes" (Midnight to 2AM May 4). The video was shot using a digital video camera that Sean was able to carry which taped him from a 360-degree angle. The video began with Sean's back to the camera, but then as he walked along the streets, the view kept changing, from the side, front and back. After a trip to a pet shop to buy two goldfish, the scene then changed to a seemingly underwater Sean, still walking along the streets. When he arrived at his apartment (where his friends were waiting, including girlfriend, Yuka Honda), Sean told them that he'd bought two fish - and proceeded to knock them out of his ear into a fishbowl.
