A POEM TO THE BRITISH FANS
BY YOKO
(Instant Karma! Issue #6-October/November 1982)
Yoko wrote this poem to the British fans, telling of Sean's desire to
visit England. Said Yoko, " (this poem is) from me to the British fans who
have been very kind and comforting to Sean and me."
Once upon the Thames
John and I have rowed and
rhymed.
The result is Sean
Who's evidence born
That East and West
Have sometimes twined.
Sean is eager,
A determined beaver
Who wishes badly
To see his fatherland
And, quite often, screeches madly,
"Mother, forget not England."
Well, how could I, son.
On my heart-heart's drum
One day, I'm sure, you'll
hope and run
Then you shall go
To say hello
And air the tie
That ne'er shall die.
Tell me then, if you should find
A knot in bind
Round a willow tree
Carrying the tale of our
love to be
That lives and grows in
you and me.
