Dear Yoko,

I have believed in peace ever since I can remember.  Everyone at work laughs at me  because I have the words to "Imagine" hanging in my office.  It's my favorite song in entire world.

Tonight, when I saw your Peace Event in the Rolling Stone, I cried.  It's a beautiful message and I believe if we imagine peace like John wrote, there will be peace.

Last night I went to a peace vigil and we sang, "Give Peace a Chance." I felt like John was there with us.  I imagine peace all the time.  Even when war is so close, I imagine peace, I talk to people about peace, I meditate about peace and I hang peace signs everywhere I can.  I know if we all visualize peace, it will come.

I feel sad when I see so many Americans supporting this war but I feel that those of us who believe in peace are strong and peace is in our hearts.  Our hearts send out love and peace to everyone around the world.

Thank you for your call for peace.

Debbie in San Francisco

I watched the news last night and felt disheartened that some USA Today/CNN poll said the majority of people supported the war, believed the lie that the President told that Saddam was connected to 9/11 (even though our own Pentagon has disproven this months ago.) But I realized of the people I know almost all oppose the war, and I thought of all the people protesting not only in other countries, but all over the US. I wondered then who had USA Today and CNN polled? How many people did they poll?

I talk with a good friend in South Africa regularly. I tell her that what has been reported about Americans not questioning our governments plan to invade another country just because our leaders don't like the leader of that country's leader isn't true.

A lot of people do question it. Worry about the path we are on of destroying Civil Liberties in America, causing more hatred toward the US around the world, spurring more terrorism because of our patently undemocratic rhetoric and threats of actions.

We live in fear of how far our leaders will sink towards despotism, we waver between anguish and disgust at the cowardice of the Democrats in government to speak out against our loss of freedoms and threats of invading other countries that displease our leaders.

I dream and wish and hope for peace, but at the same time the words of Jackson Browne's song "Lives In the Balance" haunt me.

Much love,

Keri

When I heard about the ads I went out to find them. Everyone around me laughs at me for it but I tore out of Rolling Stone the Peace Event notice and kept it by me and posted it on my online journal in the hopes other would read it and participate.

In this time when you don't have to imagine war as it pushes closer. I imagine Peace, I dream of peace in the night and daydream about it while noticing how blue the sky was today.

Imagine it so hard in my own brain that it will stop those tanks from rolling.

Think about it so hard that the guns won't be able to fire.

Peace can be in many forms. We just have to allow it to happen.

Thanks

There's a vibration, a hum ....

I don't know if we can stop this, in my heart of hearts i hope 'we' can,
there is a groundswell .. a heartening, reassuring movement of people who realise that we'll never have peace in our own neighborhoods as long as the big boys keep bickering and flexing their muscles .. tonight with my partner and friends we are going to the beach to light candles and talk about peace .. to read, to sing about it, to keep reminding ourselves of that elusive word 'peace'.

Here i am in a little town in Australia .. the word is getting about, this isn't the direction we want the world or our lives to take, i'm heartened that in little towns and villages all around this planet that other people are lighting candles and thinking about what is going on in the world, i think the days days are long gone where people will just sit back and say 'It doesn't directly affect me, i wont worry about it' the world is too small now for that type of thinking.

Sending lots of love to you all,

Greg  xoxo

I try to be peaceful everyday. I speak with a smile to people in the halls that I work, and I don't even know them.  I am new at my job, (9 months) and I've yet to meet everyone, but I try to be friendly to everyone I meet.

I am a show-off that likes attention, and I clown around a lot, and sometimes my clowning doesn't come out right with the new people I work with.  They seem to have never met someone so strange as I, so sometimes I'm apologizing about my WEIRD ways.  What I thought was funny seemed weird and dirty to one girl, so I apologized for upsetting her and told her I was only trying to make people smile.  I'm still working on her, as she keeps an eye on me now like she doesn't want me near her.  I don't let it get me down, I just take a deep breath and keep on trying to make her relax and smile.

I don't let anyone tell me French jokes, as I don't think they are funny.  It's sad that a war will turn people who are friends into enemies over night.

I will not boycott anything French, Belgium, German, etc.  I'll try to make friends with everyone.

Dear y.o.,

I was at a Catholic Pray for Peace march this past Wednesday in Cleveland and I was so proud to be a part of it. 600 Catholic High School students
marching down the street with signs like "Who Would Jesus Bomb" to "Peace Is Zesty!". (and yes, peace IS zesty) Anyway, my favorite saying is this, "You Must Achieve Justice Before Peace" and this is so true today.

So many people in our world not only suffer, but die from hunger. I ask myself, with all the technologies today, is there any reason for this to happen? Simply, the answer is no, and the problem that is stalling a solution to world hunger (and violence and hate and depression and war..etc.) is the lack of justice.

During these times its hard to be proud to be an American when it seems that we're looked at as egocentric people who's motto is "as much as you can for as cheap as you can". We need to serve ALL the people of the world with RESPECT. It is true that if you respect somebody, you will be unable to starve them or commit and acts of hatred towards them.  We must open our eyes and see that everybody everywhere is made in God or the Supreme Being's image and likeliness thus, everybody DESERVES respect.

I would just like to tell the world that when you walk down the streets, dance.

When you pass by somebody, smile, or say 'gooday!'

And when you think about the problems our world has today, tell yourself this,

"Be The Change You Want To See" - Ghandi

God's love be with you and everyone and I support your efforts every last step,

just had to write and say how much I enjoy this site!  The message of PEACE is definatley in need of being spread and I will do my part.  Is there any way Yoko would run her peace add in the local areas Free Press magazine or the Arkansas Times which is free to the PEOPLE also, these are in Little Rock, Arkansas.

I Love Ya'll and keep up the great work.

Peace event for John Lennon/for all of us

In your mind

see bombs turn into butterflies

and fill the skies with color

see love twirl, whirl and embrace-

pushing hate away..far away...

until it evaporates

in the heat of togetherness, trust and purity.
