A STATEMENT FROM YOKO ONO

Yoko Ono has issued a statement to Instant Karma! regarding a story that was posted to rec.music.beatles recently. The story contained a total fabrication regarding Yoko's supposed personal appearance as a vendor at The Midwest Health and Wellness Expo in Minneapolis, Minnesota the weekend of March 26-28, 1999. The story alleged that Yoko has a company called "Yokonetics" that sells so-called "tone-healing cassette tapes," and that the organizers of the Expo were surprised when Yoko herself showed up to promote the tapes. Yoko was quoted as saying the unplanned trip to Minneapolis was made so she could see for herself how people were responding to the product.

What follows is Yoko Ono's statement issued April 19, 1999 regarding this story.

Dear Instant Karma,

I would like the Lennon-Ono fans to know that I have nothing to do with Yokonetics, and have not been near Minneapolis or its vicinity for the longest time.

My lawyer has been informed already of this strange situation. But I am most concerned that the fans would know the truth.

Thank you.
Yoko
